What is DUI Insurance?
There is no such thing as DUI Insurance! This term was coined due to its association with insurance, but it is actually a certificate provided by one’s auto insurance company. This certificate is called an SR22. It proves to the state that one’s insurance policy meets the minimum requirements for auto insurance liability coverage. This certificate will remain valid as long as the approved insurance policy is maintained.
The SR22 satisfies the state’s requirement of “providing proof of financial responsibility.”
*It is important to note that not all insurance carriers provide SR22’s, and changing carriers may be necessary.
What steps do I need to get DUI insurance?
